We are Destin’s Original Dolphin Cruise as seen on CNN and National Geographic Explorer. The Southern Star is an 80-foot motor vessel that is U.S. Coast guard approved for up to 149 passengers. The boat is equipped with two restrooms, a covered upper deck with a drop down enclosure, and a climate controlled cabin.
The two-hour cruise begins with a narrated tour of the Destin Harbor where the captain will give you some history about the area and point out some of the local spots. We then head out to the Gulf of Mexico, and if it’s calm enough, we will cruise just off the beach to find the dolphins. If the gulf is too rough, we cruise in Choctawhatchee Bay where we can also find the dolphins. Once we spot the dolphins, we spend time watching them and educating you on them. We play island music, feed the birds, and take time to let the children drive the boat.
We have a snack bar that sells food such as hot dogs, sodas, and small snack items as well as small gifts. We are a family oriented cruise and do not serve alcohol and smoking is not permitted.
As we are Destin’s Original Dolphin Cruise, we do recommend making reservations as our cruises fill up quickly. You can book online or give us a call at 850-837-7741. We will hold your reservations with a Visa, Discover, or MasterCard.
